POLISH,
HUNGARIAN & ENGLISH AFTERNOON ~ 5th JULY
We are all used to reading and hearing about the influx of eastern
Europeans into the country, although there are very
few in Hartley Wintney, but Saturday 5th
July sees a new, international departure for the Parish
Council when it presents an afternoon of traditional
Polish, Hungarian and English music, food and drink.
With Polish and Hungarian visitors and residents from around the
area, it is hoped to provide a taste of these two countries
more popular foods and drinks, as well as English fare,
Morris dancing and live music. Polish and Hungarian food, provided by local
shops, will also be available for sale during afternoon.
So, for an afternoon, forget the barbecue and come to the Community
Orchard at Hunts Common and enjoy the cultures of Poland
and Hungary. The
event starts at midday and runs through until 5.00pm;
admission is free.

On the basis
that if it’s not broken, why fix it? This year’s

the previous seven. Starting at 12 noon, there will
be music from three bands throughout the afternoon,
a barbecue, bar, (we hope) cream teas, children’s
entertainment, including Fred’s Flying Circus
and face painting and of course, the ambience of the
Orchard on a September Saturday.
This year the
Jazz Picnic is on Saturday 6th September and as usual,
there is no admission charge.
